Malick shot almost the whole film during the 'magic hour' and it shows in every frame. A farmhand, his lover and his little sister flee Chicago for the Texas wheat fields and a small scheme goes wrong. The story is thin on purpose; the film is about light, labour and the feeling of a season ending. Ennio Morricone's score does half the work.
